Whether it's space constraints, or lack of sunlight where you need it, pots might provide an answer for your vegie growing dilemmas. Not all vegetables are suitable and they will need extra care from you, but there are still plenty of vegetables that can provide something tasty for you to grow and eat. At the very least, herbs are essential to great cooking and many will live happily in confined spaces such as pots.
Like all productive plants, access to sunlight is pretty important and this is where pots are versatile as there are ways of moving them about.
